If you look at the White Pages broadcast from above, there are some glaring
errors in the hierarchical addressing for a few stations. A single callsign,
or a callsign with the SSID, are not proper when asked for your Home BBS.
Hierarchical addressing is like you would use for email or snail mail (postal).
The addressing should start with the callsign of your Home BBS, then a period,
then the location information of that bbs starting with the smallest area that
they are using and ending with the 4-letter abbreviation for the continent.
Not correct:
F4IKH @ KA1VSC-4
KB3SKP @ KB3KOW
Correct:
N2NOV @ N2NOV.#RICH.NY.USA.NOAM
LU4FBU @ LU1DBQ.#MOR.BA.ARG.SOAM
One thing that you always have to remember is that IF you register your Home
BBS on each node that you visit, your Home BBS needs to be the same. This way
any mail destined for you will wind up in the same place. Systems use the
White Pages (WP) broadcasts to populate their addressing databases so that
they know where the message gets routed for your callsign. You need to make
sure that it is correct so that mail is not misrouted.
