NEWS FOR THE MIDLANDS
We start with clubs that have several events this week. Wythall Radio
Club has its club net on 145.225MHz at 8pm tonight and next Sunday.
Monday sees the Advanced course continue and a club net, meeting on
145.275MHz at 8pm and then moving to 3.6MHz. On Tuesday there's a
Morse class at 7.45 followed by a free ‘n' easy meeting from 8pm.
The regular nibbles night is in the shack from 7.30 on Friday, which
also sees the commencement of the three-day club trip to the RSGB

Coventry Amateur Radio Society has its club net at 8pm on Monday on

Friskney and East Lincolnshire Communications Club has its 2m SSB net
on 144.285MHz from 8pm on Monday. Tuesday sees a talk by the local
Community Fire Safety Advocate. The M3 + M6 group net is on Wednesday

NEWS FOR THE SOUTH EAST and EAST ANGLIA
We start with news from Capel Battery Contest Group, associated with
Maidstone YMCA ARS, who are seeking new members for next year's Field
Day contests. Entries are currently made in VHF NFD, HF SSB and the
144MHz Trophy contest. If enough CW ops come forward then HF NFD
could be added. Support is available, as is a good site at Capel
Battery, overlooking Folkestone. No previous contest experience is

The RSGB is joining Bedford & District Royal British Legion in
February with a lecture on the developments in wireless technology
during and after World War 1. Before then, there are many other
interesting lectures as part of Bedford British Legion's
commemoration of WWI. The next is on 20 October when Steve Fuller
speaks about the Bedfordshire Regiment during the Great War. Talks
take place at The Great Hall, Bedford School, MK40 2TU from 7.30pm.
