NEWS FOR THE MIDLANDS
We start with news from clubs that have several events this week.
Wythall Radio Club has its net on 145.225MHz or GB3WL from 8pm today
and next Sunday. Monday sees the Intermediate course and on Tuesday
there's a Morse class plus club night. The nibbles night in the shack
commences at 7.30pm on Friday and on Saturday there's a club trip to

Coventry Amateur Radio Society has its open net on Monday from 8pm on

Gloucester Amateur Radio & Electronics Society is having an informal
evening on Monday. Wednesday and Thursday see club nets, starting on
145.500MHz at 7.30pm and then moving to 145.550 or the nearest clear

RAF Waddington Amateur Radio Club has nets on 145.325MHz from 8pm on

Midland Amateur Radio Society starts its 85th birthday celebration on
Wednesday with a buffet and display of awards, documents and

NEWS FOR THE NORTH OF ENGLAND
Today sees the start of an addition to the GB2RS schedule and list
of readers. We welcome Jim, G4AEH and Reg, G8VHI. Jim is better
known for reading the news on Radio 4, while Reg returns as a
newsreader, having stopped in October 1985 on joining the RAF. The
time will be at 20:30 on 145.525MHz. Reg will be the main reader and
has put down the coverage area as Central England. Reg lives in a
super location and expects to have a huge footprint. Anyone within 50
miles of Nuneaton should be able to hear him with ease. To see why,

Mid-Cheshire Amateur Radio Society is assembling and labelling
equipment storage boxes today. Wednesday sees checks of feeder and
