NEWS FOR THE MIDLANDS

We start with clubs that have more than one event this week. On
Monday Coventry Amateur Radio Society has its open net from 8pm on
145.375MHz FM and/or 7.16MHz ± QRM. On Thursday there's an open net
from 8pm on 50.175MHz SSB. Friday sees the Great Egg Race. Contact

Wythall Radio Club has its net on 145.225MHz or GB3WL from 8pm today
and next Sunday. On Monday there's a curry night and on Tuesday
there's a Morse class and club meeting. Friday sees the regular

Gloucester Amateur Radio & Electronics Society is operating at
Crickley Hill on Monday instead of holding a club meeting. On
Wednesday there's a club net from 7.30pm, initially on 145.500 then
moving to 145.550MHz or the nearest clear channel. Thursday sees
another net from 7.30pm, again starting on 145.550MHz then deciding

South Birmingham Radio Society is closed on Monday. Tuesday sees the
regular coffee morning in the shack from 11am, and Thursday sees
training classes with Dave Murphy, G8OWL. Friday and Saturday will be
spent packing the trailer for the club stand at the Telford Hamfest

Lincoln Short-Wave Club is taking part in the 70MHz UK Club Contest
on Tuesday. Wednesday sees a talk by Brian, M0YBX on antenna
modelling with MMANA-GAL software. On Thursday it's the club net via
GB3LM from 8pm. Saturday sees the regular surgery and G6COL on the
air, plus SSB Field Day at RAF Ingham, which continues into Sunday.

alongside other radio operation. On Saturday the shack is on the air
