NEWS FOR THE MIDLANDS
We start with clubs that have several events this week. Worksop
Amateur Radio Society continues its Intermediate course today and
next Sunday. On Monday there's the UKAC plus a club night, and
Thursday sees a technical night with construction, Morse training,

Wythall Radio Club has its net on 145.225MHz or GB3WL from 8pm
tonight and next Sunday. On Monday the Intermediate course continues,
plus there's a curry night. Tuesday sees a Morse class and
preparation for the Club Calls contest. Friday sees the regular
nibbles night in the shack. On Saturday it's the club and house

Coventry Amateur Radio Society has its open net on Monday from 8pm on
145.375MHz FM and/or 7.16MHz ± QRM. On Thursday there's an open net

Gloucester Amateur Radio & Electronics Society is having an informal
evening and general operating evening on Monday. On Wednesday it's
the club net from 7.30pm, initially on 145.500MHz, then moving to
145.550 or nearest clear channel. Thursday sees another net from

Central Radio Amateur Circle is taking part in the 144MHz UKAC on

NEWS FOR SCOTLAND
We start with news that registration is now open for this year's
Scottish Microwave Round Table, which will be held at the Museum of
Communication, Burntisland from 9.30am on Saturday the 12th of
November. Organised by the Lothians Radio Society, there will be an
excellent program of talks, a constructors' contest and an equipment
test facility. Microwave component and surplus items will also be on
sale. Refreshments and lunch will be provided by the Museum and in
the evening dinner and musical entertainment will be served up in the
nearby Kingswood Hotel for those wishing to make a full day of it.
