As GB7CIP seems to be offline at the moment, I have put my old hat back on to
forward the GB2RS news from my hotel room that has kindly been prepared and
sent to me by Andy G4TNU. Thanks Andy....

NEWS FOR THE MIDLANDS

We start with clubs that have several events this week. Burton Amateur Radio
Club has a net from 10am around 145.575MHz today and next Sunday. On Wednesday
there's a club night and Thursday sees a club net from 8pm around 145.575MHz.

Wythall Radio Club is providing communications at Wythall Fun Run from 8am
today, and at 8pm today and next Sunday there's the regular net on 145.225MHz
or GB3WL. Monday sees a curry night and on Tuesday there's a Morse class and
club night. Friday sees the regular nibbles night in the shack. Next Saturday

Coventry Amateur Radio Society has an open net on Monday from 8pm on
145.375MHz FM and / or 7.16MHz SSB ± QRM. Thursday sees an open net from 8pm
on 50.175MHz SSB and on Friday there's a net on 145.375MHz FM instead of the

Nunsfield House ARG has a shack night on Monday and its net on 145.325MHz from

South Birmingham Radio Society has an open meeting and rag chew on Monday,

NEWS FOR THE SOUTH WEST

We start with news that Torbay Amateur Radio Society Training Team is running
Intermediate practical sessions as part of weekly club nights. They will
culminate in an Intermediate licence weekend workshop and exams in October.
The cost is around GBP 70 per candidate, covering room hire and exam fees.

regular Friday meetings. The site is also registered as an RSGB Examination
Centre and the club will be providing Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced
