NEWS FOR THE MIDLANDS

We start with clubs that have several events this week. Cheltenham 
Amateur Radio Association has a net from 8.30am today and next Sunday 
on 50.220MHz USB. On Tuesday there's a club lunch, then the slow CW 
net around 3540-3550kHz from 8pm. Thursday sees a silent key auction.

Wythall Radio Club is providing car parking communications and 
running a club stall at Wythall Carnival today, then the regular net 
at 8pm today and next Sunday on 145.225MHz or GB3WL. On Tuesday

Coventry Amateur Radio Society has an open net on Monday from 8pm on 
145.375MHz FM and / or 7.16MHz SSB ± QRM. Thursday sees an open net 
from 8pm on 50.175MHz SSB and on Friday it's the third round of the

Gloucester Amateur Radio & Electronics Society is having a 
members-only picnic and outdoor operating session on Monday evening 
at Crickley Hill from 6pm. The main club net is on Wednesday from 
7.30pm on 145.475MHz FM. On Thursday there's a net on 145.475MHz from 
7.30pm, often then moving to 80m SSB. Friday sees a net from 7.30pm

NEWS FOR THE SOUTH EAST and EAST ANGLIA

We start with a request by Selim, M0XTA, who is looking for amateurs 
who live in Hammersmith or elsewhere in West London to help find a 
suitable venue for his planned new Hammersmith Amateur Radio Society, 
M0XHS. Anyone who would like to help or register their interest in

Loughton & Epping Forest Amateur Radio Society is still taking 
registrations for its Foundation training course taking place over 
the weekend of 16th and 17th September. The course fee of GBP 27.50 
includes two days tuition, sitting the Foundation Exam and membership 
of the club for a year. It takes place at All Saints House in 
Chigwell Rise Hainault, Essex. There is car parking available and hot
