Just to set the record straght for those unfamiliar with US History 101, the
Battle of Gettysburg did not take place in Gettysburg but a few miles west of
the town at Cemetery Ridge and Little Round Top that separates the National
Battlefield from greater Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. At least they got the
hills right. (;->) Cemetery Ridge FYI is so named for the cemetery at the top
visible from the east side of Phoenixville and mum told me that when she was
young living with her parents she saw cross burnings up there at he height of
the Klan's power, and you thought they're a Southern thing? Guess again, when
I lived in West Creek, NJ in southern Ocean County I learned I was living in
Klan territory. Anyway the Gettysburg National Battlefield is a nice place to
visit and so is Gettysburg with many original structures still standing and
occupied. I wonder what the ghosts of those who died there think about the
highway and railroad running right through where they fell. If you come
around at midnight and say the magic words maybe you can ask them...
hmmmMMM?
