I'm looking to extend my radio links to some existing TheNet nodes
and I am wondering if there are others who still use TheNet.

Before doing so I have set up a Tiny-2 ( early model ! ) with
TheNet 208b to get a feel of performance etc.

Knowing the limitations of TheNet regarding node lists I have
suceeded in getting a 12 node list working over 3 hops using

100 203 255 5 4 900 6 7 3 0 1 0 30 3 0 1 parameters with the
default parameter settings in Uronode.

Node connection and BBS work OK but DXCluster spots are slow,
approximately 3 minutes behind the time they are rxed on my
main system. Limiting the spots to one band makes some
improvement but still not as " quick " as I would like.

My next move is to use version X1J4 of TheNet and compare that.
Before I waste any 27C512 OTP eproms does anyone know if it is
possible to program them in two steps ? I am using FreeDos in
VirtualBox for my programing.

Regards,
Ian..
