NEWS FOR THE MIDLANDS
We start with news from clubs that have several events this week.
Burton Amateur Radio Club has its open net on 145.575MHz today and
next Sunday at 10am, and on Thursday at 8pm. Wednesday sees their

Rugby Amateur Transmitting Society is running the RATS Rally at
Princethorpe today. On Tuesday they're taking part in the UKAC on
1296MHz, as well as having CW practice and training, radio operation

Lincoln Short-Wave Club is holding a committee meeting on Monday at
7.30pm. Wednesday sees a formal meeting at 7.30pm and on Thursday
there's a simplex net on 145.375MHz from 8pm. Next Saturday, Sunday
and Bank Holiday Monday they will be operating a Special Event
Station at the Fir Park Wings & Wheels from 9am each day. For more

Nunsfield House Amateur Radio Group holds its Shack Night on Monday,
and on Thursday there's a club net on 145.325MHz from 8pm. Friday
sees a club night and British Inland Waterways on the Air

RAF Waddington Amateur Radio Club has its club net on Monday on
145.325MHz from 8pm, and on Friday there's a club barbecue and

South Birmingham Radio Society will be working in the shack on
Monday, and on Tuesday they host a coffee morning in the shack from

Sutton Coldfield Amateur Radio Society has an open net on Monday on

NEWS FOR NORTHERN IRELAND
On Sunday Bushvalley Amateur Radio Club continues operating as part
of International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend at East Light
House, Rathlin Island. The club will be operational from 10am to 7pm
at Rathlin West, UK0217, Rathlin Upper Lower, UK0055-56, and Rue
Point, UK0185 using MN0GKL, on HF, VHF and UHF. For live updates see

On Thursday Bushvalley ARC hosts a lecture on The Secret Listeners of
Gilnahirk from 7.30pm at the United Services Club, 8 Roe Mill Road,
Limavady BT49 9DF. Gilnahirk Wireless Station was officially switched
off in 1978 after 38 years of full-time operation. What is now
described as Northern Ireland's best kept secret of WWII is finally
out in the open. With firm connections to the work of Bletchley Park
and the Code Breakers, this lecture will for the first time reveal
the contribution made by those in Northern Ireland. It is a must for
anyone with an interest in military history. Entry is free, as is car
parking, and there's a talk-in channel operating on 145.450MHz from

Aberdeen Amateur Radio Society is today participating in the
International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend at Tod Head

Dundee Amateur Radio Club is preparing for the Montrose Rally on

Today Colchester Radio Amateurs continue into their second day
operating their special event station, GB6NT, at Naze Tower, Walton,
for International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend. They will be
operating across the bands on phone, FT8, CW and PSK through to 4pm.
On Tuesday they hold a net on 433.425 FM from 7pm, and a Top Band net
