NEWS FOR THE MIDLANDS

We start with news from clubs that have several events this week. 
Burton Amateur Radio Club has an open net on 145.575MHz today and 
next Sunday at 10am, and also on Thursday at 8pm. Wednesday sees

Lincoln Short-Wave Club will be operating a special event station at 
the Fir Park Wings & Wheels today from 9am. On Wednesday there's a 
talk by Adrian, M0NWK, and Thursday sees a simplex net on 145.375MHz 
from 8pm. Next Saturday and Sunday the club is participating in the

Nunsfield House Amateur Radio Group has a shack night on Monday, and 
on Thursday there's a club net on 145.325MHz from 8pm. Friday sees a

RAF Waddington Amateur Radio Club has its club net on Monday on 
145.325MHz from 8pm, and on Friday there's a club night. More from

On Monday Sutton Coldfield Amateur Radio Society has an open net on 
145.250MHz from 7.30pm, and on Tuesday there's a DMR open net on 
slot/local 2GB7FW from 7.30pm. Wednesday sees them operating a GB4MOA 
at Staffordshire Regiment Museum at Whittington near Lichfield as 
part of their discovery days using HF, VHF and DMR. The station will

Rugby Amateur Transmitting Society is on the air this Tuesday as well 
as running CW practice and training. Next Saturday there's an antenna 
presentation and discussion on magnetic loops, with members Dan and 
Sid sharing their experiences. There'll be another on the air session 
too, with radio operation and projects. Next Sunday from 2 to 4pm 
they're holding a management committee meeting, alongside hut

Mid-Warwickshire Amateur Radio Society is holding a contest logging 
workshop with M0JDB on Tuesday, and on Saturday the club is taking

South Birmingham Radio Society has a coffee morning in the shack on 
Tuesday at 11am. On Friday and Saturday they'll be loading the 
trailer for the Telford Hamfest, where they will be running a club

Midland Amateur Radio Society holds a members' discussion on holiday

preparation evening next Wednesday, and on Saturday they're

NEWS FOR THE NORTH OF ENGLAND

We start with news from clubs that have several events this week. 
Today, Oldham Radio Club has its C4FM net, FCS004-55, from 9.30am, 
and on Wednesday there's a 2m FM net from 8pm. Thursday sees a 
construction group and Intermediate course, and next Sunday it's

Warrington Amateur Radio Club is holding its regular solder Sunday & 
operating afternoon today. On Tuesday evening there'll be a 
presentation or operating and technical help. Thursday sees their

Thornton Cleveleys Amateur Radio Society is closed on Bank Holiday

modes on Tuesday. On Wednesday it's the club net on GB3HD from

NEWS FOR NORTHERN IRELAND

The RSGB Region 8 Team is hosting GB100RAF in the STEM Village, 
that's Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, on the 1st and 2nd 
of September at the 2018 Portrush Airshow, AirWaves. Mid Ulster 
Amateur Radio Club will provide their display trailer for the weekend 
and RAF Amateur Radio Society members will facilitate the GB100RAF 
call sign. The team is aiming to run the SES for the full weekend as 
part of the ongoing RAF100 commemorations, whilst demonstrating 
amateur radio and its technological diversity to the general public. 
Clubs and amateurs from around the region are welcome to come along 
and join the fun. The team would be delighted if you can stay to chat 
to visitors, pass on some of your passion for the hobby and even take 
a turn at operating GB100RAF. The team hopes to be operating on 
VHF/UHF and HF, posting more detail via social media during the days
