NEWS FOR THE MIDLANDS
We start with news from clubs that have several events this week.
Burton Amateur Radio Club has an open net on 145.575MHz today and
next Sunday at 10am, and also on Thursday at 8pm. Wednesday sees

Cheltenham Amateur Radio Association has its net today and next

NEWS FOR THE NORTH OF ENGLAND
We start with news from clubs that have several events this week.
Today, Oldham Radio Club has D-Star Net on REF 14B from 9.30am, and
on Wednesday there's a 2m FM net from 8pm. Thursday sees a club night
and Intermediate course, and on Saturday they are participating in
the Churches on the Air event. Next Sunday it's the turn of their

Wirral Amateur Radio Society continues with day two of the SSB Field
Day weekend today. On Tuesday it's having a natter night from 7pm,
when the Foundation course also continues. Wednesday sees an SSB
Field Day post-mortem at 7pm. On Thursday G3NWR is on the air for
ATV; call in on 144.750MHz to arrange contacts. Next Saturday there's
a working party upgrading their lighting for energy efficiency as

York Radio Club is holding a breakfast meeting today at 10am. On

Angel of the North Amateur Radio Club is on the air on Monday and
continues its Foundation and Intermediate courses. Next weekend it
will be operating a special event station from 10am to 3pm at The
Bowes Railway, Gateshead NE9 7QJ, as part of the Heritage Weekend.
They will be setting up from 8.30am in the Guards Van on the
platform, as part of the guided tour. Entry is free. The suggested

GB4GCT during the opening ceremony to commemorate the reopening of
the Greenham Control Tower. Operation will continue through next

the objective of working those who had a connection with Greenham
Common Air Base during the Cold War. A special event QSL card will be
