NEWS FOR THE MIDLANDS

We start with advance notice that Cheltenham Amateur Radio 
Association will be running a Foundation course will over the weekend 
of 19th and 20th January 2019, followed by the exam on Sunday the

Leicester Radio Society has a talk on Monday by Sam Hunt, M1FJB on 
the Leicestershire DMR repeaters and the proposed analogue repeater 
GB3EMB. The Foundation course begins on Thursday. Saturday sees 
GB2LWF starting its month-long activation to mark 100 years since the

South Birmingham Radio Society has its regular coffee morning in the

We start with clubs that have several events this week. Central 
Lancashire Amateur Radio Club has an FM top band net today and next 
Sunday on 1.940MHz from 11am. On Monday there's a net around 
70.450MHz FM at 9pm. Next Saturday it's the monthly club meeting at

NEWS FOR NORTHERN IRELAND

as a ‘licence for life', all radio amateurs are required to 
revalidate their licence at least every five years. This means every 
licence holder must contact Ofcom to confirm or update the details on 
the licence database. The quickest way to revalidate is simply to 
access the licensing system and confirm or re-confirm your details 
online via the Ofcom website, or by email to
