NEWS FOR THE MIDLANDS

We start with clubs that have several events this week. Rugby Amateur 
Transmitting Society has hut maintenance and a committee meeting 
today. Tuesday sees the 144MHz UKAC, plus CW practice and training. 
Next Saturday the shack is on the air, with radio operation and

Gloucester Amateur Radio & Electronics Society has informal 
activities and an exam on Monday. On Wednesday it's the club net from 
7.30pm on 145.475MHz FM. Thursday sees a net from 7.30pm on 
145.475MHz, then moving to 80m SSB. On Friday there's an SSB net from

Leicester Radio Society is running GB2LWF throughout November to 
commemorate 100 years since the end of World War 1. There's a Morse

Nunsfield House Amateur Radio Group has a shack night on Monday. On

Lancashire Amateur Radio Club has an FM Top Band net today and next 
Sunday on 1.940MHz from 11am. On Monday there's a net around 
70.450MHz FM at 9pm. Next Saturday there's an AM net on 1.940MHz from

Grey Point Fort Amateur Radio Society is operating GB1WWC from 
Carrickfergus Castle for 28 days from Thursday. Permanent special 
callsign GB0GPF will also be on the air from Grey Point Fort. A

NEWS FOR SCOTLAND

as a ‘licence for life', all radio amateurs are required to 

revalidate their licence at least every five years. This means every 
licence holder must contact Ofcom to confirm or update the details on 
the licence database. The quickest way to revalidate is simply to 
access the licensing system and confirm or re-confirm your details 
online via the Ofcom website, or by email to

Next Sunday the Radio Officers Association Amateur Radio Society 
continues running its special event station GB100WWI at South 
Foreland Lighthouse to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the 
ending of the First World War. The station will be operated by a team 
of ex-Marine and Coast Station Radio Officers using CW only on all 
amateur bands, subject to prevailing propagation conditions. QSLs
