NEWS FOR THE MIDLANDS

We start with clubs that have several events this week. Coventry
Amateur Radio Society has its Party in the Park today with GB4PIA,
for People in Action, at The Miners Welfare Park, Bedworth. The club
net is on Monday on 145.375MHz at 8pm. Friday sees a radio workshop
evening, concentrating on 6m and VHF. Contact John, G8SEQ, on

Lincoln Short-Wave Club is holding a National Hamfest meeting at
Newark showground from 8pm today. Monday sees GB2CWP at Lincolnshire
Aviation Heritage Centre. On Tuesday there's the 50MHz UKCC and
Wednesday sees a talk on noise sources by Kevin Avery, G3AAF. The
simplex net is on Thursday on 145.375MHz from 8pm. Next Saturday
there's a talk aimed at new licensees on building simple antennas by

Wythall Radio Club has its club net on 145.225MHz at 8pm tonight and
next Sunday. On Monday there's a curry night at the Monsoon from
6.30. Tuesday sees a Morse class at 7.45 and a free 'n' easy and on
the air evening from 8.30pm. On Thursday the 80m Club Sprint SSB is
from 8pm and the regular nibbles night is in the shack from 7.30 on

South Birmingham Radio Society has its regular coffee morning in the
shack at 11am on Tuesday. Thursday sees training classes with Dave
Murphy, G8OWL. On Friday the trailer gets loaded with goods for the
Telford Rally, which the club is attending on Sunday the 31st.

Rugby ATS is taking part in the 50MHz UKAC on Tuesday, alongside 
radio operation and projects. Next Saturday there's a practical

Bromsgrove & District Amateur Radio Club continues its Intermediate
course on Wednesday and is also having a data night. Next Sunday sees

with a ragchew and training classes. Next Sunday sees the Telford

Telford & District Amateur Radio Society is having a QRP evening on 
Wednesday with John, M0JZH on the village field, weather permitting.
Saturday sees preparations at Enginuity. The Telford Hamfest takes

Friskney and East Lincolnshire Communications Club is holding a M3+M6

NEWS FOR THE SOUTH EAST and EAST ANGLIA

We start with a request from a shortwave listener in Barking who is
blind and a wheelchair user, asking if anyone would be able to help

Now for clubs that have several events this week. Chelmsford Amateur
Radio Society is demonstrating amateur radio to the public at
Sandford Mill museum today. On Thursday there's a Morse class in The
