Hi All,

Being a fan of REAL Country & Western music, not that Rhinestone Cowboy
citified crap they play on a New York station, I have a few comments from my
experience over the years. Back in the day before radio went blah blah blah
boring talk WSM Nashville, TN could be heard at night in New Jersey, then the
FCC messed it all up by "filling in the blanks" licensing many new stations.
Then to make matters worse along came IBOC, AM with a digital subcarrier to
bring blah blah blah in high fidelity. Eh? The net result is WSM and a host
of other stations are buried in noise, generally speaking both AM and FM have
become a wasteland.

Maybe back when the Grand Ole Opry was the new chick in the nest, but I have
discovered that Australia has its own flavor of C&W thanks to my old mate Ray
VK2TV who is a presenter on Tank FM officially licensed as 2WET community
radio Kempsey, NSW because (get this) the studios are housed in a disused
water tank in Rudder park. http://www.tankfm.org/ So give a listen, wooja?

One last thought, once upon a time I watched the Grand Ole Opry on WSM-TV
carried by a cable provider, but time marched on all over it, durn city
slickers. (:-<)

wilderness to the Mafia. All the great things and all the worst,
like Route 22."
