WX4QZ:
We haven't typed since last year (hi hi). I
hope everyone had a good holiday season.
Arkansas started its tornado season early, with
3 tornadoes in the state last Monday evening.
Only a few minor injuries, and no fatalities.
There was quite a bit of flooding, especially
across southeastern Arkansas. We have another
chance at severe weather from Wednesday night
into Thursday, then rain next Monday...not
sure if storms will be an issue next week or
not; but if they are, I won't be here. Some
of the long range progs show winter returning
by late January. We went from just above zero
just before Christmas, to storms a week later.
California has been getting slammed by the
onslaught of storms out there, with heavy
mountain snow, and flooding at the lower
elevations.
I had a touch of the flu over Christmas, but
have been dragging since that 3rd Covid booster
2 months ago. Except for a Post Office Box run
every 2-3 weeks, I'm at home 24/7 now...even
though I got word of several hamfests in the
region, health and finances won't let me go.
At least I have plenty of food and drink to
last me until February. My new HMO took effect,
but the bar code on the member card was wrong;
so they have to ship a new one out. Benefits
are better, and I can use all the help I can
get.
I'm to see the cardiologist on Jan. 23, and
may delay the next Post Office Box run until
then, to save a few shekels with Lyft, if I
can't get transportation from my HMO to/from
the heart clinic. At least with the new HMO,
my specialist visit is now only $15 instead
of $40.

GE everyone
Hope an awesome Christmas and New Year holiday.
We're still on the road since mid December.
Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida, back to Alabama.
Now visiting nephew/brother in Georgia.
Return to Oklahoma probably this weekend.
Nice to be retired and not on rigid schedule.
Wishing everyone a wonderful New Year. Daryl
depending on time of day thru Little Rock on
return may holler at you for eyeball qso. Scott,
may do same with you if available
Everyone have a great week. Type at you soon.

VA7RBP:
Good Evening Daryl and all on the net...HAPPY NEW
YEAR!!
Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year's
Eve!
We had a quiet Christmas here in Castlegar.
Christmas dinner was with our Daughter and her
family...was very good...yum
Gained 5 pounds, and hav not lost it yet...
We were supposed to travel to Vancouver on Boxing
Day, but winter storms caused us to delay departure
for two days.
We spent 4 days down there clearing out Arlene's
Brother's appartment and dealing with his affairs,
then drove back home Jan 01. No New Year's Eve
celebration for us...too tired.
We're still dealing with his bills that are trickling
in.
So, this week and last week, I'm back to the usual
routine on the radio, and playing with ALLSTARLINK.
The snow and ice scraped two of mymag mount antennas
off the roof...had to put them back up.
I had the current temp wrong +01C/34F...anyway,
that's about all I have for this week, everyone have
a great New Year, a great week.

GE everyone
We hade a good Christmas. All the kids were here.
It was terribbly cold for Christmas.
New Years was much better. We didnt stay up to welcome
the new year.
Do you remember when you were a kid and had to goto
bed at 9 pm. Couldn't wait to grow up so you could
goto bed whenever you wanted.
Well it turns out that is 9pm.
Hope everyone has a good week. To Charley - Would be
glad to meet up. Have Dr appt tomorrow but schedule is
pretty clear.

Replies from WX4QZ:
Charley, you are the traveler. I appreciate the
thought for an eyeball QSO, but I no longer have
a car or drive since last June, due to dry corneas,
blurring my vision without warning when driving. I
have to save the funds for Post Office Box runs via
Lyft twice a month. You'd be better off visiting
Scott and Miss Jackie. I'm basically homebound 24/7
now.
Rick, I was home alone on Christmas...didn't eat
much over the holidays, but did a lot of sleeping.
Be glad the temperature is 1 degree C instead of
1 degree F!! Good luck in getting the antennas
back up.
Scott, I was in bed before sunset on New Year's
Eve. The firecrackers woke me just before midnight,
but they weren't as bad as they were in previous
years.
