WX4QZ:
It's August, which means the Labor Day
Holiday will be here on Sept. 4, so the
PCL Net will take that night off...then,
no more holidays until Thanksgiving,
Christmas, and New Years.
On a wild guess, I tried a long password
string that I hadn't used before, and lo
and behold...it was the password for my
Windows 10 system!! So, I made sure to
set up the security questions, in case
I have another gray blonde moment (hi hi).
I have a 20 digit PIN for both computers,
that only I know.
We're finally drying out, and getting a
brief break from the heat, but it will
be back...we're at the hottest part of
the year in Arkansas now. No rainfall is
expected here for at least a week.
I didn't go to the Shreveport Hamfest last
Saturday, and I won't make Huntsville, AL
or Mena, AR. I rarely go outside of central
Arkansas anymore for anything. The D-Rats
ratflector I've been hanging out may have
to go QRT soon, so unless I find a new
ratflector, I won't be on D-Rats anymore.
I'm glad I have until Oct. 10 to pay the
property taxes, as I had other bills this
month -- but I'm not hurting on food or
drink.
I have to release a square dance publication
this evening after I get the scribe posted.
Then, I get a break from that until after
Labor Day. I wish folks wouldn't wait until
the very last minute to contribute something.
But, if they miss the deadline...too bad.
If I try to do too much with the RadarOmega app,
the smartphone locks up. At least I figured out
that when that happens, just press and hold the
power button, and the phone will power down and
reboot.
The lead story on Newsline this week was about
stock traders wanting to send high speed data
on the HF bands next to the ham bands. Several
videos on YouTube say "HF and the hobby will die"
if it passes. The reply comments deadline is
Tuesday, Aug. 15. Hams are strongly urged to
"vote against it".

NS2B:
Another uneventful week. Spent a couple days in
Syracuse helping take care of Mary Jo's Mom.
She's not getting any younger, and it's starting
to show.
Upgraded the node software. Seems to be working
as expected.
And getting ready for NASCAR weekend at Watkins
Glen. Pulled out all the camping gear today. Made
sure the scanner was loading all the current radio
frequencies. I'm sure I'll forget something. It
wouldn't be a camping trip if I didn't!
KE4TP's connection just comes and goes. I guess I
should kill the modem connection for tonight.
Prayers for your grandson, Scott.
Everyone stay cool and have a good week.

VA7RBP:
Good Evening Daryl and all on net.
Last week was a civic holiday here, so I missed
the net.
We've had some very hot weather over the past 2
weeks. We had a forest fire at the northwest end
of town last weekend, didn't go out much due to
the heavy smoke. Temperature today was 40C/104F.
The replacement caps finally arrived last week
for the TS-50. I started installing them
yesterday. Once I get all of the caps replaced,
I'll do some more troubleshooting on the TS-50.
Not much else to report, just trying to stay cool.

KF5JRV:
GE Everyone.
It has been a good week. Had to take the grandson
to the clinic for an ultrasound this morning. He
has a bump that they are looking at in his neck.
Probably nothing, but a prayer would be appreciated.
Spent the day soaking up the cool air. It's a great
relief from the last couple of weeks.
Good to hear that Bob updated the node software
without any trouble. I need to do that very soon.

Replies from WX4QZ:
The email address for Paul, KE4TP, on QRZ is wrong.
I can't contact him otherwise, and HF won't let him
get a good connect.
Bob, I realized when you started typing that I had
forgotten to log the info for the scribe, so I had
to manually enter it.
I understand about Mary Jo's Mom...went through
that before my Mom died just over 4 years ago.
Glad the node software update went good...figured
out how to get data from an ISO file for shareware
collections for my BBS...but it's tedious work. GL
on the weekend at Watkins Glen...hope you have good
weather.
Rick, there are too many holidays here in the US
(hi hi). That is too hot...and worse from the
wildfire smoke. FB on the caps for the TS-50...
good luck on working with that.
Scott, prayers for your grandson...I've got some
medical issues/appointments myself. You got the
cooler air a day before we did here in Little Rock!!
