Do we need hundreds of nodes in a broadcast ? I say no. What's the point ?
It's fine to have some redundancy built in but with the majority of links via
the internet it appears that the attitude is " I've good links so I can send
loads more stuff than I can via RF ".
Is not a BBS there to store and forward ? I don't need to connect to a node on
the other side of the World to send a msg to my pal who lives there, I just log
into my local BBS, enter the message and off it goes.
With a lot less nodes in a list it would makes things more interesting for a
node hopper. Rather than pick random nodes from a huge list and have nothing
happen it would be more fun to work out how to navigate across the globe using
reliable links.
I receive node broadcasts of nodes in excess of 100's of which all but 14 are
ignored.
Just my 2d worth ! ( there's a clue in that )
Regards,
Ian..
