Brian... seems to me the BPQ R-line does contain the BID:
R:170916/1137Z 4155@KF5JRV.#NWAR.AR.USA.NA BPQK6.0.14
albeit in a slightly different format - 4155@KF5JRV rather than
$:4155_KF5JRV.
Jnos seems to know what to do with the BPQ format as by the time
it gets to the ~/jnos/spool/hisory it looks like this:
