First of all: thanks God! and thank you John G8BPQ!
I hope that the LinFBB and JNOS2 follow this way too.
The German software continues to follow this way since
1980's... and, at beginning, also F6FBB followed that
rule.
Problems related to forwarding process and H-Addressing,
never understood at all since decades may be treated
apart if that matters are of Sysop's interest, as I hope.
Specially in this time in which we are living, the
Geography is not, or not fully, explained... or never
understood also from aged men :)
Taking as macroscopic example the following; already described
in one of my 2014 messages:
<quote>
the revival/resort of the four letter designator was proposed
by a *draft* document from TAPR dated 31 August 1994.
That *obsolete draft*, was consistently opposed everywhere
starting from European SysOps... and so never approved from
them and nowhere.
First of all and explaining the geography, as per my last msg,
the Continent Oceania is defined from United Nations and
from our geography handbooks as:
009 Oceania
053 Australia and New Zealand
054 Melanesia
057 Micronesia
061 Polynesia
so, what represent that code *AUNZ* as a continent designator
for the Oceania geographic area?
<quote>
Apropos of the false 'CEAM', geographically speaking the American
Continent, named 'Americas' is divided in 'North(ern) America
and South(ern) America in this way:
North America - (Northern America, Caribbean and Central America).
Code NA
South America
Code SA
Now, as already explained by a recent document and in several
packet msgs, the official situation is:
Conclusions:
...<snip>
'Continents' in accordance with 'Composition of the
macro geographical (continental) regions and
component of geographical regions' as excerpted from
the United Nations publication, revised August 31,
2013, are the following. And since, no ISO ALPHA-x
code has been foreseen for Continent's designation
into the above official documentation and others
(United Nations, NATO, EEC, UEO, etc.), as per my own
knowledge, so why don't continue to use a simple *two
letter* code, namely:
Africa - (Eastern Africa, Middle Africa, Northern
Africa, Southern Africa, Western Africa).
Code AF
Americas:
North America - (Northern America, Caribbean and
Central America).
Code NA
South America
Code SA
Asia - (Eastern Asia, South-central Asia, South-
eastern Asia, Western Asia)
Code AS
Europe - (Eastern Europe, Northern Europe, Southern
Europe, Western Europe)
Code EU
Oceania - (Australia and New Zealand, Melanesia,
Micronesia, Polynesia)
Code OC
...<snip>
So, my question is: why use that *false* or *inconsistent*
'four letter' designators and don't use the two letter code
as indicated?
