As proven by your own message Jason, the packet PBBS system is obsolete.
No one can agree on a set of standards and when I invited developers around
5 years ago to come together to draft standards not a soul was interested.
Not a one! This is also telling of the future of PBBS mail as it has all along.
Ecomm drills use INTERNET based SMTP systems and have for quite a few years
not discarding the validity of the PBBS message systems. If PBBS mail were
valid emergency mail systems then the internet would not be used for such,
and you do NOT need a license to use the internet (although it should be a
requirement).
For those who still dream of a PBBS world that we had decades ago, play the
lottery instead - you have better odds at winning that than going in a
reverse direction with PBBS mail.
If you don't believe me I offer 2 things to try:
1 - move your internet group on the PBBS system
2 - if any PBBS sysop has axip/axudp links, drop them and see how well your
mail forwards. You'll find that your local post system will be faster.
