Prague Astronomical Clock, Prague, Czech Republic
This astronomical clock is believed to be the oldest one in the world still
operating. Built in 1410 on the southern wall of the Old Town City Hall in
Prague's Old Town Square, the clock features a dial which shows the position
of both the sun and moon as well as a calendar dial to show the date and the
zodiac sign for each month of the year. On the hour, every hour, wooden
figures of the 12 apostles and other figurine move through window above the
astronomical dial.
