...Lake effect/lake enhanced snow possible downwind of the Great Lakes...
High pressure over the Great Basin/Northern Rockies will dominate the
weather over the western two-thirds of the country. Off shore flow
associated with the high will produce Santa Ana wind over parts of
Southwestern California through Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, a deep upper-level trough over the eastern half of the country
will have multiple upper-level energy centers passing through the trough.
In addition, a front over Southern Ontario will move southward to the
Lower Great Lakes and eastward to New England by Sunday evening. The
eastern portion of the boundary will dissipate while a new front will
develop off Mid-Atlantic/Southeast Coast by Sunday, too. Cold air and
upper-level energy moving over the Great Lakes will produce lake
effect/lake enhanced snow downwind from the Great Lakes and into parts of
Northern New England and Northern/Central Appalachians through Sunday.
Similarly, upper-level energy moving over the Ohio Valley will aid in
producing light snow over parts of the Ohio/Tennessee Valleys on Sunday
into Sunday evening. Elsewhere, upper-level energy moving out of
Northeastern Mexico will move eastward to Florida by Sunday. The energy
will produce rain over parts of Florida from overnight Saturday into
Sunday evening.
