## 🏖️ Eastern Pacific Basin (Vertiente del Pacífico)
The Pacific side is experiencing a massive burst of tropical activity with three active hurricanes moving across the open ocean, well clear of the Central American mainland: [2, 6]
*
* Active Systems: The NHC is actively issuing advisories on Hurricane Karina, Hurricane Lowell, and [Hurricane Marie](https://www.google.com/search?q=Hurricane Marie&kgmid=/m/011q1wmr). All three systems are tracking westward or northwestward over open waters, well out to sea southwest of Mexico and heading toward the Hawaiian Islands. [2]
* Area of Potential Development: An area of low pressure is forecast to form well offshore of southwestern Mexico early next week. It holds a medium (40chance of tropical cyclone formation over the next 7 days. Like its predecessors, it is projected to pull away from land, moving west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph. [1]
* Impact on Central America: Because these massive low-pressure engines are spinning offshore, they will continuously drag the Monsoon Trough (Vaguada Monzónica) closer to the Pacific coastlines of Central America. This setup acts as a conveyor belt of deep Pacific moisture, keeping El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Western Panama highly susceptible to severe, localized afternoon thunderstorms and sudden flash flooding over the week.
