...There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms possible across the
Southern High Plains...
...Heavy rain possible from the Mid-Atlantic Coast to the Southeast and to
the Central/Western Gulf Coast...
A front extending from the Lower Great Lakes to the Southeast then to the
Central/Western Gulf Coast will be quasi-stationary through Tuesday
evening. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the
boundary from the Southern Mid-Atlantic to the Southeast then to the
Central/Western Gulf Coast through Tuesday evening. Rain will also
develop over the Northern Mid-Atlantic into the Northeast that will move
off the New England Coast by Tuesday afternoon. Additionally, rain will
develop over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley/Upper Great Lakes
through Monday evening.
Meanwhile, upper-level energy over the Central Rockies will move eastward
into the Southern Plains overnight Monday. The energy will produce
showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Central/Southern High Plains
that will move eastward to the Middle Mississippi Valley to the Southern
Plains by Monday evening. Additional upper-level energy moving southward
over the Northern Plains will induce a front over parts of the Central
Plains into the Upper Great Lakes that will move eastward to the Ohio
Valley to the Lower Mississippi Valley/Western Gulf coast by Tuesday
evening. Showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Middle
Missouri Valley into the Northern Plains by Monday afternoon that will
move into Great Lakes/Western Ohio Valley southwestward to the Southern
Plains overnight Monday. The showers and thunderstorms will continue over
parts of the Upper Great Lakes/Western Ohio Valley into the Middle
Mississippi Valley to the Southern Plains/Western Gulf Coast into Tuesday
evening.
