...Heavy rain possible for the Lower Mississippi Valley and Central Gulf
Coast...

...Heavy rain possible from parts of the Southern Plains to the Ohio
Valley/Great Lakes...

Upper-level low over the Central Gulf Coast/Lower Mississippi Valley will
be quasi-stationary through Sunday. High moisture content air along the
Gulf Coast will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over the region
with heavy rain possible through Sunday. In addition, daytime heating
along with tropical moisture will aid in producing showers and
thunderstorms over the Southeast with a maximum in areal coverage during
the afternoon into the late evening hours from Friday into Sunday.

Meanwhile, a front extending from the Great Lakes to the Southern High
Plains will move very slowly southward to the Southern Plains while moving
into the Western Ohio Valley and becoming quasi-stationary from the Great
Lakes to New England through Sunday. Tropical moisture will pool along
the boundary producing showers and thunderstorms along and near the front
with heavy rain at times from the Southern High Plains to the Great Lakes
and eastward into New England through Sunday. Additionally, upper-level
energy over the Upper Mississippi Valley/Northern Plains will move
eastward into the Upper Great Lakes by Sunday. Showers and thunderstorms
will develop over the Upper Mississippi Valley on Friday morning that will
move slowly eastward into the Upper Great Lakes by Saturday evening.

Elsewhere, upper-level troughing and daytime heating will produce
scattered showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern High Plains
into the Northern Plains on Friday afternoon into evening. Furthermore,
monsoonal moisture and daytime heating will aid in producing showers and
thunderstorms over parts of the Southern/Central Rockies during the late
afternoon into the late evening hours on Friday into Sunday.
