...There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms over parts of the
Northeast...

...Heavy rain possible over parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley and
Southern Plains...

Low pressure over the Great Lakes will move eastward to off the Northeast
Coast by Wednesday evening. The associated boundary extends from parts of
the Northeast westward to the Great Lakes then southwestward to the
Southern Plains that will slowly dissipate over the Lower Mississippi
Valley/Southern Plains by Wednesday morning while the northern part of the
front moves eastward off the Mid-Atlantic Coast by Wednesday evening.
Tropical moisture will pool along the boundary producing showers and
thunderstorms along and near the front through Wednesday morning. The
showers and thunderstorms will move into the Mid-Atlantic on Wednesday
morning into Wednesday evening.

Additionally, daytime heating along with very moist air over parts of the
Mid-Atlantic/Southeast will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms
over parts of the area during the afternoon into late evening hours on
Tuesday and Wednesday. Similarly, daytime heating along with the tropical
moisture over the Lower Mississippi Valley and parts of the Southern
Plains will produce showers and thunderstorms over the region on Wednesday
into Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, two areas of upper-level energy will move from the Upper
Midwest eastward to the Northeast that will aid in producing showers and
thunderstorms over parts of the Northern Plains/Upper Mississippi Valley
that will move eastward to the Northeast Coast by Wednesday morning. The
second upper-level energy will move, likewise, from parts of the Northern
Plains to the Great Lakes by Wednesday evening. The energy will produce
showers and thunderstorm over parts of the Northern Plains overnight
Tuesday that will move into parts of the Great Lakes by Wednesday evening.

Elsewhere, re-surging monsoonal moisture and daytime heating will aid in
producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southern/Central
Rockies on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon into the late evening. Greater
areal coverage will develop over that area on Wednesday.
