Many Brits and all blacks seem to believe that we went on expiditions to
collect slaves from the dark Continent. In fact, our leaders have beeb
issuin a public apology for doing this,
The truth was that we went to the Arabs and bought the slaves from them.
We knew they were good at it becouse the had spent a very long time
finding slaves in S. SW England.
Then we got a good navy, and a ,ilitioa which made the Arabs nervous.
So they stopped.
The Arabs had contacts further south in Africa so they would find a spot
where 2 reibes were at war and help one side capture the other...for a
rward of course,
The actual shipping was done by the British and, of course the
Dutch,French
and Spanish.
I don't see why I should apologise for something my great great
grandfather may have done.
It is all history....
