Again the post failed to mention two key facts, this time the nuclear
accident at Three Mile Island. Don't blame K.O., he only copys and pastes
them from the Internet, blame the author.
1) The reactor in question was permanently shut down.
2) Ex president Jimmy Carter, a nuclear engineer assisted getting the reactor
under control.
Incidentally, on the way to Dayton 2000, the world famous ARRL Hamvention and
hamfest I passed TMI and had a good look at it with the remaining reactor
operating as evidenced by steam coming from the cooling tower. As an aside, I
met hams from all over the world there and saw a performance by The Smothers
Brothers aka The Smothered Brothers because CBS cancelled their TV show as
"too contraversial"... the bastids.
"New Jersey, the most American of all states. It has everything from
wilderness to the Mafia. All the great things and all the worst,
like Route 22."
