The father of Kim Wicker (N6ROE) passed away this Sunday, Christmas Day at 99.
N6ROE is the sysop of the LAXNET BBS/NetRom node. Below is the obituary
announcement. A Google search on Monte Wicker turns up a rich and fascinating
life.
Fremont E. "Monte" Wicker 1917 - 2016
Monte Wicker, the former Whittier councilman and longtime owner of Monte's Camera, died on Christmas Day. He was 99.
"He was just one of those people everybody loved," said Whittier Councilman Bob Henderson. "He had a great personality and was
a very outgoing. He was such a popular businessman and his own personality was so good. Everybody knew Monte."
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at First Friends Church, 13205 Philadelphia St., Whittier. In
ternment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park and Mortuaries.
