Hi fellow amateur historians,

"Singer Don McLean memorialized Holly, Valens and Richardson in
the 1972 No. 1 hit "American Pie," which refers to February 3,
1959 as "the day the music died."

Well what do you know, until now I thought the day the music died was The
British Invasion spearheaded bt The Beatles, which according to John Lennon
were "more popular than Jesus" that effectively killed American Rock & Roll.
I learn something new every day and today was another one of those days.

Just a few years later America recovered launching The Psychadelic Era and
the birth of Heavy Metal, another great war between the US and Great Britain,
Britain was again great retaliating with such great bands as Pink Floyd. Both
sides recorded some of the best music in music history, today's generation is
no different from the one before discovering how great their father's music
is. It only goes to show what's old is new again when kids dig through those
old dusty record collections like I did playing dad's old 78s.

"Elvis didn't die, he just went home."

"New Jersey, the most American of all states. It has everything from
wilderness to the Mafia. All the great things and all the worst,
like Route 22."
