Got a Raspberry Pi and an RTL-SDR dongle? Here's a very simple way to
make an APRS RX iGate

If you have a Raspberry Pi and an RTL-SDR dongle sitting around
unused, you can very easily set them up as an APRS RX only iGate.

You don't need the latest Raspberry Pi3, this will work on all models
from the Zero upwards.

There are already quite a few different guides on the internet showing
how to do this but Keith, G6NHU has gone one step further by creating
an almost ready-to-go image for the Raspberry Pi that you can use.

Once downloaded and written to an SD card, you only need to edit a
maximum of three files and reboot to have a fully functioning APRS RX
iGate that will relay all APRS traffic it receives off air onto the
internet.

Keith says that the entire setup process should take less than half an
hour and that's pretty impressive.

His full guide and the image can be seen on his blog at
http://qso365.co.uk/?p=4272 or if you fancy building this from
scratch, he's also written a guide to doing that at
http://qso365.co.uk/?p=4224
