I do not know the answer to your question.. but I can suggest some
possibilities.
I have never been to Europe, and I do not know the source of your tv programs
there. Are they European sources or are they USA sources? If they are USA
sourced, then they are probably influenced over there the same as they are
here... Russia was our ally.
Also, there is much photographic documentation of the concentration camps and
the people that were held in Germany that can hardly be denied. No such
documentation is readily available from the Soviet Union.
I have read, from various sources, that there was an extreme dread among the
German troops of being held in a Russian concentration camp. I do not know
the reason. Perhaps you can explain?

I always thought that the movements of German forces were fairly likely to
be correce.
I have been thinking about something recently, based on books and chats
with people ex WW11.
E.G. It is never mentioned on TV that the Russians had concentration camps
in which they tortured an kille 12,000000 people. Yet all we get fed to us
on TV is the 6 million killed by the Nazis. - I wonder why ?
