I find it quite humorous of you to comment on JNOS2 or any other softwares
that you have never configured or used. Gus and I never dropped our forwarding
path even though he still does not send me BIDs. Maiko verified a bug exists
but has been busy with family. There was and still is no need for this forward
path to be stopped. More on that below.

To help improve your knowledge, the _only_ way any xNOS knows how to handle
_any_ form of mail is via SMTP and rewriting of mail addressing since the
standard PBBS addressing conflicts with normal SMTP internet addresses. I
know this to be true from working with K2MF on his MFNOS years ago and helping
to bullet-proof his pbbs routines. I've been working in xNOS code longer than
you've been running your system. It's also explained in detail in the book
"NosINTRO" by Ian Wade. If you need a copy I have one in .pdf form.

As for the prior issue, I have personally made a resolve to it:
It appears some sort of unknown race condition exists at IR0RM where
he accepts FBB protocols but does NOT present them. The mail bug in question
exists when FBB protocols are not used in SP based mail (which many sysops
will simply use: sp sysop@ww when sending sysop mail) in that NO Bid is
presented to the receiving system:
08:36:12 I0OJJ @ IR0RM - MBOX (i0ojj) incoming proposal sP n1uro @ n1uro <
n1uro <-- bid would be here!

Now, JNOS does have "no bid" rejection code but only for bulletins, not for
those flagged P. Since Maiko is busy, I modified my code to also reject P
flagged mail to be rejected when no bid is present:

08:36:12 I0OJJ @ IR0RM - MBOX i0ojj: NO BID was sent - n1uro@n1uro

A trace also verifies this:

You'll note in the SP line, again there is no BID however now above you
can see my copy of JNOS will properly reject the Personal if it does not
contain a bid.

For some reason however, if *I* present GUS with a forward session using
FBB protocols he indeed does accept them AND if he has SP mail to send,
he _will_ send it with proper BID:
08:34:45 IR0RM @ IR0RM - MBOX (i0ojj) incoming proposal FA P N1URO N1URO.
#JNOS.CT.USA.NOAM N1URO 16417_I0OJJ 428
08:34:45 IR0RM @ IR0RM - MBOX (i0ojj) our response FS +
08:34:48 IR0RM @ IR0RM - MBOX (i0ojj) lzhuf uncompress 74/72 = 59652320 percent
08:34:48 IR0RM @ IR0RM - MBOX (i0ojj) 16417_I0OJJ received

As verified, bid 16417_I0OJJ at 428 bytes received.

Hopefully this will satisfy what's needed... for now.
