Hi all,
Oh how I remember! The Beatelies as some called them sure were a wrecking
crew, they were to New York what Godzilla was to Tokyo, teeniebopper hirls,
madness and mayhem! Beatles or no Beatles everybody watched Ed Sullivan's
really big shoe, they put on a great performance but the audio engineer in
Master Control had the audience mics too high and all we could hear was
screaming. So much for Ed Sullivan, I went to my room and put on the old 45
box and listened to them without all the noise.
Then there was Murray "The K" Kaufman (my favorite DJ) on 1010 WINS "The
Fifth Beatle" who did interviews and accompanied them at appearances. WABC
got their hands on a pre-release of one of their songs, played the heck out
of it, but spoiled the listening by yapping "WA Beatle C" all over it to
prevent bootlegging. Just to add to the mayhem John said they must be more
popular than Jesus, maybe a slip of the tongue, but it turned into one of the
best publicity stunts ever... the Beatles TOOK OVER THE WORLD and launched
the British Invasion, some of the best music ever.
With the door still open, for the next two decades some more of the best
music ever and the highest quality recordings came from Europe, primarily the
UK. It's geezer rock now and I'm an old geezer, it's MY MUSIC and if you want
my records you'll have to pry them from my cold dead hands. Thank you John,
George, Paul, and Ringo for the best time of my life!

wilderness to the Mafia. All the great things and all the worst,
like Route 22."
