Hi Misko and all.

Current Ukraine's regulation don't have mandatory period to step-up license class.
And no more special proofs like to work 100 DXCC etc.

Before last time, for years we had some mandatory period (abt. 2-3 years to be a licensed HAM)
to step-up for First class license.

Even it was need to pass good speed CW TX/RX test for First class, ~25WPM in USSR times,
later in Ukraine its dropped to 20WPM and now even less, maybe just 10-15WPM CW for 1 Class.

Complexity of license tests in past times was never a big problem to become a HAM,
because peoples was interested and motivated in that hobby!

As for current times, my personal view, that proof like work 100 DX countries in
classic modes - can be good motivation to become quality, skilled ham operator
and to support traditions in hobby.

I'm see how many peoples for last 10-15 years come in HAM hobby from radio-pirates
or CB-radio and see their manners and culture - its about nothing related with
true hamradio that we all known before!

And "the new paragigm" of automated digital DX QSO mode called FT-8
now even "breaks through the last bottom" in our hobby,
when almost all (newcomers and skilled hams too!) don't like / don't want to QRV
in something else than FT-8! Its a big shame for our hobby!

73, Sergej.
