Hello all,
On Saturday, Oct 17, we had a governing board meeting here in SRV (= Ham
radio union of Vojvodina province, northern Serbia, YT7/YU7 prefix).
Among the others, I asked the board members to provide adequate support
in a VHF radio and antenna, in order to start local RF activities of
this packet-radio BBS. If everything goes as planned, I hope that this
BBS project will be revived in times to come.
For now, this BBS is only capable to exchange messages with few other
stations by telnet, but it shall also start working on a local 2m band
channel when radio & antenna are in place. The BBS is located at the
union's office. Apart of it, there is another 'portable' BBS that I run
from my personal laptop at a nearby ham club station where I have HF
pactor port in function, but not a VHF access for now. However, I work
on updating the ports, and that will depend on support from both union
and club members. It is not an easy task because Serbian ham radio
suffers from strong opposition in widespead 'ham conservatism' where
only telegraphers and other contesters are supported.
