Hello All
Users:
Users of MB7NCR, GB7CIP International Gateway Node, BBS
and the original WorldWideConvers (WWC) Chat servers
via the local VHF/UHF Radio 2metre and 70cm bands,
HF PACTOR 7,14,21,28MHz frequencies,
and Internet interfaces.
It's good to see the numbers increasing with New Licenced
Radio Amateurs logging on to gb7cip.
Also Welcome back to all those due to 'Covid-19 Lockdown'
going into their Garden Sheds, Lofts. Attics and dusting
off their radios and old PC's and get them back online
after 10 to 20 years of inactivity.
Internet Linking:
Also to all my Internet AXUDP and 44Net ipencap ax.25
protocol upstream and downstream partners, WWC links.
Without your support we would not have all these
excellent Continental links. That we all use to chat
one to one and also exchange messages.
Forward partners:
Especially my Internet Forwarding and HF PACTOR partners
for keeping their HF Radio Rystems running.
And those systems that also operate like GB7CIP. Acting as
Gateways for onward forwarding within their Continent
and to those in other areas of the world.
For routing personal one to one contacts and forwarding of
AX25 SP Mail and Bulletins.
(*Very useful when the Internet interface fails..)
PS Lost all our 70cm forwarding links when we had to close
them down in 2012. No one was around when we switched back on.
Software Developers:
A very BIG Thank you for developing, writing, supporting
and providing the updates to be tested and applied to
the Amateur Radio Linux Code over the past many decades, via
the 44net and uro linfbb Internet newsgroups.
That 'glues' all this system together to share with others.
(first installed at g4apl/gb7cip when g4apl decided to
build a 'native linux system using separate processes
and networking'.
Using 'Slakware 1.1.50/73 kernel supplied on 50 x 3.5 inch
floppies' back in 1994)
New Network Nodes:
It has been my pleasure again to assist when requested, the new
and old Linux UK node Sysops and get (keep) your system operational
this year.
(not forgetting some old Sysops!! coming back on)
All part of our hobby of self learning, experimenting and
sharing knowledge.
GB7CIP HF Packet experiment (Self Challenge)
December 2017 Recently successfully worked out how to configure
and test Robust Packet R600baud and 300baud Packet Radio all
driven from the LinFBB Server. Driving two HF Transceivers
Using the SCS PTC IIpro and DSP MULTI-II Modem that was
installed in 2005 and never used until now.
Currently testing on 28128.4 USB Dial. tones 2300/2100hz
fixed not able to adjust.
Not 24 hours (2019/2020)
ONE to ONE Pactor (G4APL-0)
We have had some very successful one to one with VK2NA on
14107.5 and 21109.5 USB Dial Mark (tones 1600/1400hz
and with some EU friends active daily on 3594.4Khz USB
Dial Mark for the past 15 years.
HF conditions have not been too good, BUT have been improving
in the the past 3 months when G4APL has been around.
Paul has been contacted recently by USA ex Pactorteers getting
active again. One of which was found listed in his logbook
last worked on 14107.5 USB Pactor in 2017.
Also Noticed a ZL2 friend connect via the Long path on 14MHz
to GB7CIP Pactor interface the other day. (12 Dec 2020)
Thank you to you all your support and feedback
over the past 12 months.
As some of you are aware. There have been some additional
Challenges to overcome here at the 'G4APL Household', over the
last seventeen months or so of 2020 to say the least.
And many more months to come.
