Hello to all amateur radio operators of the world...
I wanted to take a moment to wish everyone who reads this message a
happy new year.
I hope your 2021 is much better than 2020; which I bebelive was a hard
and diffuclt year on everyone.
If you are reading this, know that I wish YOU a healthy life.
If this last year was diffuclt on you, or you lost someone, saw someone
you love get sick, or lost a job, because of the pandemic, please know
that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
By now, I believe every country in the world has plans for getting and
distributing the vaccine to its citizens and residents, so we should be
optimestic that the future is better.
In this past year, ham radio was one of the ways I managed to keep my
sanity and keep in touch with lots of my friends worldwide.
While being socially distant from others and sometimes self-isolated,
I managed to use ham radio to not only keep in touch with friends, but
I also managed to make new friends. Friends with whom I exchanged
information, exchanged holiday wishes, and/or spoke with them over the
airwaves.
On the local side of things, I got on the repeaters more to check on
others. We used to tell each other where we can find toilet papaers to
buy .. hi hi. We would check on each other daily on a "health and
wellfare" net.
I also used NTS radiograms to send messages to others to tell them they
are in my thoughts and prayers.
I used Packet radio on my BBS, to connect with others while also
providing a mean to the local users here in NJ, USA to connect with
others.
And defintly, while doing all that, I learned a lot from other hams.
I would like to invite you all to do the same. Not just to keep the
airwaves busy and to keep our bands, but also to help each other, even
by lifting each other's mood. (btw, thanks to all the Humour Bulls)
let's all hope for a better year, a healthier one, a more sane one,
while also working towards that.

this pandemic, or if you just need someone to say "hello" to...

and special thanks to all the SYSOPs out there who are keeping this
hobby active and running by providing their time and equipment for this.
