Sunday April 25, 2021 6-8pm local time. Call on 146.52, US 145.5 UK, or your
local 2 Meter FM Simplex Frequency.

With all the bands and modes available across the amateur radio spectrum, the
most common to all of us is 2 Meter FM and Light Up 2 Meters Night is meant for
all of us to get on the air and make QSOs. Operate fixed, mobile, or portable,
whatever method you choose, everyone wants to hear your signal on the air. It
will be springtime, so, perhaps it is time to check out that antenna and
feedline, maybe even make some upgrades. Perhaps you have that new colinear
antenna that you want to get on top of the car. Maybe you want to find the
high ground for that portable operation.

The key to Light Up 2 Meters Night is getting the word out to hams in your
area, since 2 Meter FM Simplex works best for local operating, so share this
announcement on your local nets, local club meetings, and on your social media,
web site, and other electronic sources.

The operating frequency for Light Up 2 Meters Night will depend on your local
area, of course, 146.52 is the go-to for calling in the USA, and 145.500 in
Europe, you might have local frequencies in your area that hams use and
monitor.

Remember, 2 Meter FM Simplex is local, so, get on the air between 6pm and 8pm
in your local time zone. If you live near the edge of a time zone, there is no
rule that says you canâ€Öt start an hour earlier or stay an hour later, it isnâ€Öt
a contest, just an event to get people on the air on the same band and mode
around the same time to make QSOs.
