Commentary:

VA7RBP Rick :
Good evening Bob and all on the net.
Same old boring stuff. Not doing a heck of a lot still. Had my 2nd COVID jab on Saturday, Arlene has hers on Wednesday.
Bands have been lousy so not doing much radio work. I did manage to order some antenna components...which haven't arrived yet,
hopefully this week, and no guarantees it will work.
The garden planters are coming along slowly.
My project of the day is painting the front steps then the back deck when I get around to it.

VE7TCP Jim :
Hi all, I had a less-stressful week last week as I was off
work on vacation... not that I went anywhere, hi hi, but at
least I got to do some much-needed stuff around the house,
clean up the tools and whatnot still laying around near my
furnace after I worked on my air conditioning the last time
I had some time off. Spent today (first day back to work)
split between reading hundreds of emails and being on the
phone for meetings etc. all day long. FUN. :(
I have been having a little bit of fun lately with a 5-el
2m yagi I bought some time ago but never got around to
hooking up. I pointed it south and tried to see how many
packet stations I could raise between here and Seattle...
I did manage to intermittently connect with a winlink node
about 55 miles south of here. Pretty unreliable on regular
packet although I did get some better results on VARA FM.
It's pretty sketchy on FM at that distance, especially since
the distant station isn't using a directional antenna
pointing back my way.
Oh, the latest thing is that my son found a couple of old CB
sets in my dad's basement when we were visiting there a few
weeks ago (I know, I'm sorry, I said the Bad Word, hi hi)
and he's taken one of them and a mag-mount antenna to his
mom's house to try to talk to me. (I think I mentioned
before that he had tried and failed the exam for his amateur
license twice, and hasn't tried again because of covid.)
We'll see if he has got the antenna up somewhere high
enough or if he's just trying to do it from inside the
basement :)
Waiting for my second vaccination dose... my parents are
getting theirs tomorrow but I will have to wait my turn as
I'm not old enough to be a priority :)
Wow, when I signed in here I didn't think I had much to say.

N2GWK george :
Good evening to all in the net. N2GWK Here in Bardstown where temp is 77.7 F .
Been fairly busy here with new Winlink Gateway and Wnlink net(s), Started a new Winlink Net for our American Legion Post 42 ARC. Net runs on Friday all day.
Put in a recently purchased FT897D (used) and RMS Relay so still working out some of the bugs.
Seems to be doing well so far. It appears to be the only HF Trimode gateway in KY.
Running on 80,40,20 and 10 Meters Vara and ARDOP.
Just got back from WV and a visit with Mom in nursing home. About a 3 hour drive each way for me so it
kind of wears this OM out.

NT5R Charley :
