This is a message that I sent out to F1OYP about his complaints of a
particular station using a particular piece of bbs software as the fault:
Will you people get over yourself with the software wars? This has been
going on in all areas of IT/Tech since the 1980s! The JNOS software has
capabilities that most sysops do not understand, especially when all they
seem to want is a plug and play bbs solution as seen by many who have
lately jumped on the packet systems and think that they are now part
of a network. If the recent problems are looked at in a clearer light,
it is a matter of a sysop playing with an NNTP feature that did not
fully understand the ramifications of their actions. I agree, testing
should not be on the vast network but in a lan testing lab. This was
not the fault of the JNOS software, it's author or it's testers.
