WX4QZ:

GE to all on the net.

A significant snow and ice storm may affect my
region of the country this week. Winter Storm
Watches are already up north of Little Rock.
I hope I don't lose power. Hoping to join a new
church Sunday, if we don't get iced in. I could
get some more bread and lunch meat tomorrow, but
I hate to risk losing food if power goes out. I
met a sweet young lady who works at a local area
restaurant who invited me there. She's only 16,
and I'm almost 62, but right now, I just need
someone to talk to...I'm not worried about a
"true relationship".

Speaking of which, weather permitting, I'll be
here Feb. 14; so if you need to take your YL or
XYL out that night, do it. :)

I did laundry Saturday...not a single thing
for Winter Field Day. Having clean clothes
was my version of a clean sweep (hi hi).

Still no word from the FCC on that $35 fee.
They can wait as long as they'd like.

NS2B:

GE All!

The week was cold! I think the high temp for
this past week was in the teens. Wednesday
we're supposed to be near 40 and then a snow
storm comes later in the week with colder
temps again.

Winter - blah.

Spent the weekend watching a good bit of the
IMSA Rolex 24 race and football games. The
racing was good - neither football game
turned out like I wanted.

Nothing new on the radio front. Pondering a
new antenna for the HF setup. The OCF dipole
I put up last fall is not impressing me.

But not doing anything until it warms up a bit!

NT5R:

GE everyone

MUCH enjoying this nice weather few days between
cold spells.

My thermometer shows high today 67.8 f (19.9 C),
reads a bit high but beautiful day

Working on 80 meter dipole, resonant about 3.4 MHz
so tweaking to do.

Branson fire chief is ham so helped four of us
from Branson club helped city crew take down some
large Christmas signs today. Location overlooking
the lake called Mt Branson. Would be great spot
for antennas.

Some hiking last couple days, making the most of
nice weather.

Daryl enjoy your trim job. You will feel it when walk
outside in cold.

Cut my own hair for many years. Working one time with
retired barber and told him cut my own hair. His reply
"I can tell".

When my son was about 8 years old slipped and made a big
gash in hair.

Asked my son if ready me to cut his. His reply "Yes and
make a big hold just like yours".

VA7RBP:

Good evening Daryl and all on the net.

Another slow winter week. Nothing really exciting
to report.

Our temps have been in the 20s most of the time.
It got up to 35 today. We only had about an inch
of snow this past week.

Daily activities included playing on the radio,
40M pactor in the mornings, followed by calling
our 2M FM NOON-TIME net, and some 20M HF Packet,
VarAC on 14.105 USB, and some Robust Packet on 17M.

Had to take the Honda CRV in for service on Thursday...
$600 later..

The highlight of the week was the Saturday breakfast
and coffee sessions in Castlegar and Nelson.

One of the guys is leaving the area and decided to give
away some gear. I picked up 200 ft of RG213 and three
antenna switches. I'll be upgrading one or two of my
antenna feeds once the weather warms up.

I've cut my own hair for the past 20 years. I went to
a barber and told him to make it 1/2 inch all over, and
he suggest I get a set of clipper and do it myself...I
did that and here we are.

Clippers are locked in at 1/2 inch, I do the hair and
the beard at same time. I like it.

The wife gets on my case if I let it go more than a
month.

Replies From WX4QZ:

Bob, I didn't even watch the pro sports...was
busy with church yesterday, then with the QCWA
Digital Net. I started marking the Netlogger
trolls as "No Response" to try to save time on
the nets. I think a lot of these just do "net
hopping", but they don't bother to actually
participate.

GL on the antenna deal. Spring will be here soon
enough.

Charley, it was 70 here today...we might not even
hit freezing on Thursday.

I forgot to note I got a haircut, shampoo, and beard
trim at Great Clips today for $25. I'll regret it
when the cold air arrives, but I started to look
like a shaggy dog hobo, as it had been October since
I last got that done. The mask I have will help keep
my face warm...although I'll stay in as much as
possible. Getting the hair cut reminds me the lawn
will need to be mowed again soon. Hope I can find my
lawn guy. I just can't stand long hair...it being on
the ears was bugging me.

That'd be a nice antenna location. FB for the fire
chief being a ham.

Rick, there's still plenty of winter left. Hope the
band conditions have allowed you to do some radio
work.

I hope my car doesn't need any repairs for awhile.
Almost too costly to have one, but too costly to
be without one.

So many folks with colds, etc., it's hard to know
what's Covid and what's not.

FB on the coffee and breakfast sessions...hope
some of the guys were able to get some gear.

Just think of all the money you saved doing your
own hair.

Daryl, WX4QZ
