Currently in the process of fully documenting the set up to build a
fully automated digital amateur radio shack running on multiple
systems that are low power, the raspberry pie of course.
The automation is meant as an assistive technology to help with
those with difficulty typing (like me) and a lot of these things can
also be used for safety measures such as remote shutdowns of systems
and radio interfaces.
These shortcuts work through a gateway via normal secure shell, and
the shortcuts work from any iOS device, each of which is
synchronised using the cloud so you have it created on an iPad and
it will be on your iPhone as well automatically.
Add shortcuts runs on a mobile device itâ€Ös also possible to use
automation scripting that includes location information so in a
pinch you could make a system automatically notify you that you are
leaving your home and that you need to switch off your radio gear,
with a button that will do it.
Those brave enough to live by the seat of the pants kind of course
immediately opt for the auto shut down as soon as you leave the
vicinity, with the system is fully running on systemd Linux process
management, Dependencies and conflicts are automatically resolved so
that processes are shut down in the correct order and on the
flipside started in the correct order as well.
The documentation is taking quite a considerable amount of time to
write, but it was detailed and already some of the system unit files
are available for download and fully documented on the website,
eventually the whole section will cover even the automation and
shortcuts set up iOS.
The fact that Apple introduced the secure shell as part of iOS
without having to load any dodgy software has been a huge opening
for home automation through the use of such powerful and efficient
Linux micro systems as raspberry Pi4.
Now that the crypto markets are crashing, The markets are being
flooded with secondhand graphics processors, it wonâ€Öt be long before
we are going to see a residual return to normal chip prices and the
eventual re-stock of chips that can build the raspberry Pis that we
love.
