WX4QZ:

It's hard to believe, but Easter is coming up
on Sunday, April 9. The PCL Net will not meet
on Monday, April 10. With a shortage of Lyft
drivers lately, I rarely go out on errands
anymore...and that includes hamfests, what few
remain here in Arkansas. So, I doubt I'll even
attend a church Easter activity; especially
considering I don't rest well at night anymore.

I had to cancel the cardiologist's appointment
last week, due to the shortage of Lyft drivers.
I likely will just go out around midday every
other Wednesday to make a Post Office Box run.
If I end up losing Lyft, then I'm stuck at home
24/7/365. After Uber frauded my debit card last
year, I'm not going back to them. I was going to
mail off the license exam session results last
week, but with a driver shortage, I decided to
stay home. I hated losing the independence, but
the cost was too great to keep the car, and it
became too dangerous to drive, vision wise. Even
just here at home, my eyes dry out quickly, even
with using eye drops.

I need to scan in the documents for the taxes,
but I just have had little to no energy to do
much of anything lately...including work on the
BBS, websites, and the ham radio nets. Most of
the time, I'm like a dachshund...eating and
sleeping (hi hi). As noted, the dry corneas
continue giving me fits, so that cuts down on
the time at the computer, for ham radio nets or
otherwise. In taking Tylenol caplets for pain,
I get very groggy shortly afterwards...so that
further zaps what little energy I have. I need
a trip to the podiatrist and barbershop badly,
but funds are too tight for those right now.

Astronomical spring arrived at 5:24pm EDT today,
but winter didn't go out without a fight here in
Arkansas, with a hard freeze over the entire state.
We now head to the other extreme...severe weather,
and flooding rain by late week. We don't need any
more rain right now, but it looks like another 2
to 4 inches is possible. We likely won't be able to
buy a drop of rain come July. I saw that winter is
holding strong in the northern plains, with blizzard
and winter storm warnings. To me, the only legitimate
blizzard warning is when the Dairy Queen employee
tells you that your confectionary treat is ready
(hi hi)...and I still haven't had one.

The mouse is ornery here...just like the QuadNet
Array the last few days...messed up several nets.
I hope they get things fixed soon.

GE All.

An uneventful week. The normal Winlink and Net105 on
HF.

And started capturning WX Faxes from the Boston Coast
Guard station. I don't need them - but it's a nice
diversion!

Going to see Bruce Springsteen in Buffalo on Thursday
night. Looking forward to that. I hope it's a good show.

My son is finally home from the hospital. He's staying
with me until he gets stronger.

Rick, I hope Arlene's treatment goes well.

VA7RBP:

Good evening Daryl and all on the NET.

The BIG thing this past week, was Arlene has her surgery
date, Mar 31. We will be heading down to Vancouver on Mar
26, and hope to be back home by Apr 06. It's going to be
an expensive trip. We could not get any lodging close to
Vancouver General Hospital, but we managed to book an Air
BNB in Surrey, which means I will have an hour drive to
the Hospital every day.

It would have been nice to have it done here at the Trail
Hospital, only a half hour drive, but I guess the expertise
is on the coast...

Not much radio play this past week, but I did a lot of
reading, and TV watching.

I'll miss the next two weeks NETs...

Thanks everyone for the well wishes for Arlene!!

Our temps are finally coming up, the other day it got up
to 62F, and today it was 54F. Stuff is starting to pop up
in the garden, chives and rhubarb. I have to start thinking
about planting some other veggies...maybe after we get back.

KF5JRV:

GE everyone

We had a pretty good week. Mowed a little spot in the yard.
The early stuff is popping up.

Been playing with a pi pico. Having hard time with a driver
for windows.

Glad to learn that Bob's son is better. We will keep Rick
and Arlene in our prayers.

NT5R:

ge everyone

nice weather here today but forecast rain tomorrow. still
yoyo weather 18 f couple nights ago, 54 f today

Bob, hope your son's recovery goes well. Rick, be thinking
of you also, hope all goes well for you and Arlene.

The WEFAX stuff is interesting to decode. Been playing with
some other digital modes. Branson club talking about putting
Echolink on 147.195 repeater. I could check in to net when
on the road.

Monday nites, four nets, this one 7 pm, DMR 7:30 pm, repeater
147.195 at 8 pm, and 146.52 simplex net after that.

Bob and Daryl, thank you both for all your work with the node
and net.

Replies from WX4QZ:

Bob, FB on the WEFAX...and hope your son gets his strength
back soon. Hope the Bruce Springsteen show is good...for
the price most of those tickets are, it had better be!!

Rick, I echo everyone's sentiments and well wishes for
Arlene. At least she can get the surgery done quickly,
and not have to wait several months. Bummer on not being
able to get close lodging, though. I'll give you a courtesy
check the next 2 weeks (March 27 and April 3), then we'll
be QRT on April 10 for Easter Week...so, we'll see you on
April 17.

Scott, I'll have to call my yard man next month..was nice
not having that expense during the winter. Tell Miss Jackie
we said "hi".

Charley, you're as busy as I am with nets during the week.
It'd be nice to have it where you can check into the nets
when you're traveling. And, Bob and I are glad to do the
net each week...plus, thanks to Bob for providing the BBS
for us.
