Hello All
Users:
Users of MB7NCR, GB7CIP International Gateway Node, BBS
and the original WorldWideConvers (WWC) amprnet Chat servers
via the local VHF/UHF Radio 2metre and 70cm bands,
HF PACTOR 7,14,21,28MHz frequencies and Internet interfaces.
It's good to see the numbers studying for their UK Amateur
Radio Licence and joining this side of our hobby and
logging on to gb7cip. Via Radio
(and the many new RADIO MB7 GB7 systems being active during
2023)
Internet even just for a 'look see'.
Also Welcome back to all those going back into their Garden
Sheds, Lofts. Attics and dusting off their radios and old
PC's and get them back online after 10 to 20+ years
using the old legacy ax25 or new version of ax25 code in their
separate radio networks of activity.
Internet Linking:
To all my Internet AXUDP and 44Net ipencap ax.25
protocol upstream and downstream partners,
WWC (WorldWideConvers) convers server links.
Without your support we would not have all these
excellent Continental links. That we all use to chat
one to one and also exchange Personal and Bulletin messages.
Yes, GB7CIP sysop had a major system 'network issue where
nothing made sense' external to the 'server' in the past month.
Causing a 'mental meltdown' during resolving the 'challenge!!'.
The SysOP loves a challenge!
Forward partners:
Especially my Internet Forwarding and the few HF/LF PACTOR
partners for keeping their Radio Systems running.
Also those systems that also operate like GB7CIP. Acting as
Gateways for onward forwarding within their Continent
and to those in other areas of the world.
A BIG THANKYOU!
For routing personal one to one contacts and forwarding of
AX25 SP Mail and Bulletins.
(*Very useful when the Internet interface fails.., expect
this will be called upon again when our current Internet
VDSL feed via via old legacy overhead telephone wires are
replaced with a new service via overhead fibre cables to
our home during 2024. (Hoping my spare Router/Firewall eWAN
interface is compatible)
PS 'We' Lost all our local radio 70cm frequencies forwarding
links when we had to close them down in 2012 for the
London Olympics that covered London, Thames Valley.
No one was around when we were allowed to switched them back
on after the event. Still very quiet.
GB7CIP is still looking for 70cm activity on it's 9600bd
(RUH modulation) Horizonal beams and 1200bd vertical
Interfaces.
Software Developers:
A very BIG Thank you for developing, writing, supporting
and providing the updates to be tested and applied to
the Amateur Radio Linux Code over the past many years, via
the 44net, uro (RIP my Good Friend), linfbb Internet mail
newsgroups.
That 'glues' all this system together to share with others.
(first installed at g4apl/gb7cip when g4apl decided to
build a 'native linux system using separate processes
and networking'.
Using 'Slakware 1.1.50/73 kernel supplied on 50 x 3.5 inch
floppies' back in 1994) and in 2013/14 migrating to Ubuntu.
New Network Nodes:
It has been my pleasure again this year. To assist when
requested, the new and old Linux and linbpq UK (linbpq)
node Sysops and get (keep) your systems operational this
year.
A few more this year into new Countries or reactivated.
(not forgetting some 'old' Sysops!! coming back on)
All part of our hobby of self learning, experimenting and
sharing knowledge.
GB7CIP HF Packet experiment (Self Challenge)
December 2017 successfully worked out how to configure
and test Robust Packet R600baud and 300baud Packet Radio all
driven from the LinFBB Server. Driving two HF Transceivers
Using the SCS PTC IIpro and DSP MULTI-II Modem that was
installed in 2005 and never used until now.
Currently testing on Robust R600bd 28128.4 USB Dial wire
dipole. Tones 2300/2100hz fixed not able to adjust.
(part time or on request)
Pleased to report both Kenwood TS-480SAT's repaired and
operational again.
ONE to ONE Pactor (G4APL-0)
Propegation has not been too good again this year though have
had a many very very enjoyable long one to one Full Duplex
(FD) contacts.
14107.5 14108.9 and 21109.5 21110.4 USB Dial Mark
(tones 1600/1400hz) vis GB7CIP's gateway interfaces
and with some EU friends active daily on 3594.4kHz USB
Dial Mark for the past 15 years. Happy to arrange skeds!
From my point of view, HF conditions have not been too
good, BUT hopefully improving over the coming months.

over the past 12 months.
As some of you are aware. There have been some additional new
Challenges to overcome here at the 'G4APL/G7BSF Household', over
the last 24 months or so, to say the least.
And many more months to come.
