Hi all those relearning history,
I'm sure by now you, like I have realized much of the history you learned in
school is false. I sure got an eye opener with this one, until now I thought
the US Congress refused to appropriate funds for freed slaves return to
Africa dispite the existence of Freetown, Sierra Leone. Taking a good guess
here, had the TRUTH been taught perhaps the black propaganda going around
that led to the Civil Riots (part of the Civil Rights Movement) would largely
have failed. Only San Francisco experienced a summer of love, the rest of the
US experienced a summer of hate and twice I found myself right in the thick
of it. A line in a poem by Gil Scott Heron repeats "the revolution will not
be televised" and although it was it wasn't for me, I WAS THERE TWICE in fear
for my life in the smoke filled summer of 1967.
It was a very bad year Mr. Sinatra, caught between riots and the Vietnam
draft it was a very bad year. To modify a lyric by Steeler's Wheel: Clowns to
the left of me jokers to the right here I am stuck in the middle with glue.
