Andrew,

The Airspy Mini is a very good SDR, you have not made a mistake. At 1,296MHz
you'll probably need a LNA.

...

I have selected the airspy mini based on the fact

It's 12 bits
It's got tracking filters
It works with sdr sharp, hdsdr, gnuradio, gqrx

Has anyone bought out a satellite specific SDR ?

The funcube dongle is probably the best ?

I have a hack rf as well as rtl sdr and sdr play

Andrew

Well,

It's sensitive, has a good dynamic range (fewer problems from pages, FM
Stereo transmitters) etc.

Paul's version would have been perfect, but just being aware that the
EVA was occurring, and the frequencies involved, was interesting and
valuable. I'm not on Twitter, so didn't see the original. Thank you
for the heads-up, so to speak.

Andrew, I expect your choice of interface (iPhone, with its limitations)
may have something to do with the expressed frustration. Paul's
version, citing the source and context, is far more valuable and less
work for me, but I know it was more work on his part. I don't know how
that work would map to the iPhone's interface - copying links, more
typing, etc. - or if it is even possible. I know on my Android phone,
it would have been a bit of work, but trivial to do on my PC (which BTW,
I am using now...). Perhaps that's just the nature of the 'BB; this
isn't Twitter, so we need to adapt to what works best here.

So, a friendly suggestion: If you would provide a bit more context in
your shorter postings, using complete words and sentences, it would make
for less head-scratching on the part of your audience, and help all
involved. Nobody else is inside your head or know what you're up to.
You have a lot to offer, but sometimes it's just too much work on our
part to decode what you are talking about or requesting help on. Please
help us help you.

I have the "full size" Airspy, and it works very well. I've gone through
half a dozen USB dongles, both Fun Cube dongles, the HackRF, and both
SDRPlay units, and I like the Airspy the best.
