The official uplink frequency is 437.800 MHz. However, it has apparently
been configured to repeat the Tomsk satellite, with an uplink frequency of
437.050 MHz.

Hello everyone. For those in the U.S., I hope you had an enjoyable eclipse

As has been reported, the voice repeater on the ISS was (is?) active today.

If anyone has not had an opportunity to hear the audio when that

... the audio would have actually been even more clear, but my antenna
pointing was a compromise between the ISS and some nearby cubesats.

So, if we use the repeater, are we competing (interfering) with the
student experiments? Or, is that only geographically related (i.e. over
Russia)?

I think TOMSK just sent recorded messages "greetings to earth," but
Tanusha 1 and 2 also try to make an autonomous digital network, I
think on UHF. If the network is only on UHF or transmissions on
145.800 would not interfere with them (i.e. they also use VHF for the
network but nothing close to 145.800), this shouldn't be a problem.

Navigator Driver Version 2.4.18
Document Package 2.4.18 (.pdf files added)

This driver is intended to supercede previous drivers provided for the
Navigator Interface
by Timewave Technology Inc.

This version provides these features:

1. This one driver is used for either 32-bit or 64-bit computers.
The driver automatically selects the correct driver elements during
installation.
It also supports both XP and Vista.

2. This driver can coexist with any driver version level from FTDI.
All software components are renamed with a "nav" prefix to prevent FTDI
updates
from overwriting the components of this release.

3. These drivers are digitally signed by TIMEWAVE TECHNOLOGY.
This provides better security, and speeds up the installation process.
It is also required for the 64 bit versions of Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8.

4. This driver is derived from the FTDI-chipset Driver files ver 2.4.16

5. It is recommended that you update to this new Navigator driver level.
Updates must remove the current driver from your computer prior to
installing this version.
See the "Nav Driver Uninstall Procedure.pdf" included with this release.

6. There are four .pdf files in this package that describe
the procedures to upgrade the driver to this version.

Nav Driver Install XP.pdf
Nav Driver Install Vista Win7 win8.pdf
Nav Driver Uninstall procedure.pdf
Win7 win8 Audio Setup.pdf

Open the one appropriate to your system.
The uninstall procedure is recommended for XP, Vista, win7 and Win8.

7. If you are installing in a new system, you may use these procedures as
well, or use
the procedures in the standard Quick Start guides that accompany the Navigator
Installation CD.

Yes, using the radio as a voice repeater does interfere with the intended
use. The Russian team set this up at the last minute because they were
concerned about getting telemetry from their satellites, which might be
spinning more than they had expected. They are hoping the nearby receiver
on ISS can capture and retransmit telemetry that is not being picked up on
the ground.

I do not know if this applies primarily over Europe and Asia, or if repeater
use is a problem everywhere. I would guess that the satellite teams would
appreciate receiving telemetry from anywhere it is heard. There might be
something on the satellite websites about that. I am not directly involved.

Hello

I found a mismatch in port numbers between gqrx and gpredict for those
using SDR for ISS

gpredict is looking for port 4532

gqrx is looking for 7532

Match them

Also gqrx only works on a Mac from here the qgrx website dmg

Source code compile causes a segmentation fault

I have gpredict driving an AirSpy Mini on gqrx on a MacBook Pro

Listening for the ISS

Gpredict defaults to using 4532 for radio control since that's the default
port for the Hamlib rigctld.
